ALHAMBRA - A popular Chinese restaurant was destroyed by a morning fire Thursday, May 12.

Firefighters from Alhambra, San Gabriel, Pasadena and Alhambra responded to the 3-alarm fire that within minutes destroyed the popular Blue Ocean Seafood Restaurant 1412 So South Garfield Ave., near Valley Boulevard. Morning traffic at the key intersection and throughout the day, was temporarily blocked and then delayed by the firefighting activities.

There were only a few customers in the restaurant at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
