BREAKING NEWS: Alhambra Officer Killed Sunday Morning PDF Print E-mail

Officer_Stringer_copyALHAMBRA - One Alhambra police officer was killed and several others were injured when two police cars collided with one another early Sunday morning when responding to a robber call, officials said in a statement.

Officer Ryan Stringer, 26, died as a result of his injuries. One other officer is listed in stable condition. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision and results are not available at this time, officials said in a statement.
Funeral arrangements for Stringer are in progress and details concerning the service will follow when developed, officials said.
The other injured officers were treated at the scene by Alhambra Fire Department paramedics and transported to a local hospital for further examination, officials said.
The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Main Street. Officers from the department were investigating a possible robbery in the rear parking lot of 100 North Street.
