LOS ANGELES, Dec. 1, 2011 - The recent cold weather in Southern California has caused people to turn up their furnaces and, for some, be exposed to potential carbon monoxide poisoning. Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) is urging customers to ensure home heating equipment is operating safely by having their appliances checked by a licensed, qualified professional.

MONTEREY PARK - 8/7/11 -- Temperature in the West San Gabriel Valley surpassed 100 degrees  in the third straight day of a heat storm.

Some locations in Monterey Park were reported temperature reaching 105 degrees at 1 p.m. today. More hot weather is forecast for Thursday.

Evening temperatures throughout the Valley were in the high 70 degrees.
