A new political force has entered the picture in the San Gabriel Valley.
It is the San Gabriel Valley Young Democrats which is intended to attract liberal political activists under 35 years of age.

Political activity continued to increase in the 49th Assembly District raced to replace -Assemblyman Mike Eng who will be termed out as he is in his third term.

SAN GABRIEL, CA., Saturday, January 21, 2012-It was a rainy morning, but that did not stop supporters of Dr. Matthew Lin, a Republican, to celebrate the grand opening of Campaign Headquarters in his race for California's newly redrawn 49th Assembly District. Located in the heart of the district, the HQ grand opening welcomed over 250 friends, family members and elected officials.

Monterey Park, Jan. 22, 2012 -- Montebello School Board Member Ed Chau, Democratic candidate for the 49th Assembly District, received the endorsement of local Democrats at a conference held at the local city hall.

The race to see who is going replace Assemblyman Mike Eng in the state capitol just got a little bit crowded and maybe more expensive.
Dr Matthew Lin, prominent physician and vice chair of the AHMC medical organization, threw his hat into the race and then launched a large rally to kick off the campaign.
