Students at Mark Keppel High School were “locked down” in their classsrooms one day last week when two guns were found on a student. The guns were found during a routine inspection of the campus using trained dogs. The guns were found on a student at about 2 p.m. and the entire campus was locked down until about 5 p.m. Students spent the time in their classrooms until a search of the campus was completed. The Alhambra Unified School District informed parents of the event through an automatic phone system. Meanwhile, many parents came to the campus and waited for their children until they were released. The student with the weapons was arrested by Alhambra police.
