Due to the rainy weather conditions Alhambra has been forced to postpone the Chinese New Year festival scheduled this week. The street festival is now scheduled for next Saturday, February 13. In an Email to the press, Pinki Chen of K&K Communications said the festival was rescheduled based on rain forecasts for this weekend.
The latest weather report indicates a higher percentage of rain this weekend than originally expected. “In order to ensure safety and good attendance, we felt this (the rescheduling) is the right decision. We hope to have your understanding and cooperation, We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Every effort will be made to advertise the new date. Hope to see you on February 13,” Chen said. Three years ago Monterey Park was forced to reschedule its Chinese New Year festival along Garvey Avenue because of record-breaking rain. Last weekend, clear sunny weather welcomed Rosemead’s New Year celebration.
