"Every 15 Minutes" Assembly at Rosemead High PDF Print E-mail

Rosemead High seniors and juniors will be attending an assembly on April 22-23 called "Every 15 Minutes" to make them aware of the consequences of driving while drinking alcohol.

According to a school press release, the group that has the highest incidence of intoxicated driving events are in the 17 to 24-year-old categories. Nearly ,000 senior and junior students will be pulled out of class on April 22 by the "Grim Reaper" and Deputy Scott Metcalf, the school resource officers. The students will gather on the school field bleachers to witness an accident scene. The next day they will g to the auditorium hear the "accident victims" and see video of the accident.

Aa guest speaker, retired deputy Sheriff Richard Wright, will be introduced by a short video reenactment of an accident for which he was the victim after leaving work and was nearly killed by a head-on collision with a drunk driver.
