David Walker has been named president and chief professional officer of the West San Gabriel Valley Boys & Girls Club located in Monterey Park.
Selina Chi, chair of the club board of directors, made the announcement.
Prior to this position, Walker was the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America - Los Angeles County Alliance that is the largest after-school program in the County, providing over $43M of service annually.
In that role, he coordinated raising the awareness and financial support, with corporate partners and major donors, for the 28 Boys & Girls Clubs operating in LA County as they served over 100,000 youth annually in nearly 120 LA County neighborhoods.
The Boys & Girls Club operates one main Clubhouse and partners with the Alhambra Unified School District with after-school programs at 10 schools serving over 4,000 youth annually.
The club is located at 328 S. Ramona Ave. Monterey Park.
Walker has worked in the non-profit arena for over 33 years with youth serving organizations. He previously was the District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America. He is married and he and his wife, Kathy, have two children.
