Alhambra Arrests Two for Home Depot Theft

The Alhambra Police Department arrested two persons on Thursday (5/9) on suspicion of robbery at Home Depot on South Marengo Street. Initially, the police received a call of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Home Depot located at 500 South Marengo in Alhambra.  The caller described the suspects as two African American males one of them armed with a handgun. The caller further advised the suspects fled the location southbound Marengo Ave in a black Cadillac.

Approximately 3 minutes later, Alhambra Patrol Units observed two possible suspects in black Cadillac entering the westbound I-10 Fwy at Fremont Avenue.  Alhambra Units followed the suspects into Los Angeles and attempted to stop the vehicle at Vignes and the 101 Fwy. The suspects stopped the car and surrendered to police without incident.

Witnesses from the Home Depot were transported to the area of the traffic stop and positively identified the suspects. The stolen merchandise, including industrial drills and other power tools were recovered from the suspect’s car.

Police said both male suspects were arrested for Penal Code Section 211 (Robbery) and are currently being booked at the Alhambra Police Station.  Alhambra Patrol Units and Detectives are continuing their investigation at this time.
