Keppel High to Open New Science Building

ALHAMBRA -- Mark Keppel High School is planning to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open its new science building, one of many new structures in the $45 million campus remodeling project.

The ceremonies will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, in the lunch court on the Mark Keppel campus located on Hellman Avenue. Earlier this year, Ahambra Unified School District Officials opened the refurbished school auditorium. Two other buildings, including a new gymnasium, are schedued to be opened later this year.

At the Monterey Park Council meeting on Tuesday, May 19, AUSD school board president Bob Gin issued an invitation to the City Council and the public to attend the ribbon cutting ceremonies.

He emphasized the the ribbon cutting ceremonies will be open to the public. For more information call (626) 572-2244.

The event will incude student exhibits, a PTSA food sale and Keppel Alliance Jewelry sales. The groups raise funds for school programs.

The Mark Keppel campus is located in Alhambra and serves students in Monterey Park and Rosemead.
