Memorial services making the 13th anniversary of the attack by terrorists on the United States will be held Thursday, Sept. 11 in Monterey Park and Rosemead.
Monterey Park’s event will occur at 8:30 a.m. on the city hall front lawn with presentation of wreath by members of the police and fire departments. City officials will also attend.
Rosemead ceremonies will be held on the same day at 5 p.m. in the new plaza next to city hall at 8838 East Valley Blvd. This year’s ceremony will include flag raising, wreath laying and playing of Taps. Activities will include a showing by cars by “Fueled by the Fallen, an organization providing aid to military and emergency personnel.
The anniversary of the attack on New York City and Washington D.C. is now referred to as Patriot Day.
