Cities Observe Memorial Day 2015

Speeches by politicians and community leaders, patriotic music and presentation of wreaths on Monday, May 25 will mark Memorial Day in many local cities.
The holiday is dedicated to the memory of those in the military who died while fighting in American wars.

Monterey Park ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. in front of city hall at 320 W. Newmark Avenue. Host for the event is American Legion Post 397 located in Monterey Park.
Rosemead Memorial Day ceremonies will also begin at 10 a.m. and will be held in city’s recently renovated Civic Center Center Plaza located at 8838 E. Valley Blvd., located between city hall and the county library.
Alhambra will hold its event at the Alhambra Park Veteran’s Monument at 500 N. Palm Ave. also beginning at 10 a.m.
All of the programs are free and open to the pubic.
City halls, banks, post offices, libraries and other public institutions will be closed for the holiday.
