Continued Heat and Flex Alert Called

Because of continued excessive heat forecast in the West San Gabriel Valley and statewide today (6/20/17), operators of California’s electrical grid issued their first flex alert of the year and urged energy consumers to reduce power consumption over the next two days or risk outages.

They asked electric customers  turn off unnecessary lights and major appliances between 2 and 9 p.m. today and Wednesday, the California Independent System Operator said.

As result of the heat storm, local cities have opened cooling centers throughout the communities. For the location of your cooling center call the local city hall.
