East L.A. Man Arrested For Alleged Home Invasions

EAST LOS ANGELES – An East Los Angeles man was recently arrested for allegedly performing two home invasion robberies in the East Los Angeles area, officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

Josue Vasquez, 27, was taken into custody by the sheriff’s department on Feb. 13 at approximately 8:30 a.m. from his residence in the 200 block of North Ditman Avenue, officials said.
Vasquez was booked at East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station and is currently being held in lieu of $200,000 bail, officials said. In addition, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has filed the charges of two counts of robbery with gun enhancements on Vasquez, officials said.
Vasquez allegedly broke into a home in the 3600 block of Floral Drive in East Los Angeles on Jan. 9 while wearing a mask and gloves. He allegedly approached his victim from behind at gunpoint as she was opening the door to her bedroom. He then allegedly forced her to kneel at her bedside as he ransacked her room. He then allegedly took her money, purse, jewelry and a cell phone, officials said.
Vasquez allegedly struck again on Jan. 25 when wearing a mask and gloves he rang the doorbell of a home in the 3500 block of Cesar Chavez Avenue. When the victim opened the front door the suspect allegedly forced his way in at gun point. He forced her to sit on the sofa with her head down while he ransacked her home, allegedly taking her money, purse and a cell phone.
Sheriff’s detectives believe there may be additional unreported home invasion robberies possibly committed by Vasquez.  He is described as a 5-foot-6 Hispanic man, weighing 200 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes.
