Garvey School District Superintendent Sandra Johnson was placed on administrative leave by the school board at a special meeting Monday, Dec. 16 2013.
Dolores Preciado, recently retired and former assistant superintendent of pupil services, was named interim superintendent.
In a Facebook posting Board president Robert Bruesch stated, "now our work begins to restore our district to a working alliance of teachers, parents and administrators."
Bruesch, who was recently re-elected and elected president of the board, has been publicly critical of Superintendent Johnson's policies and management style.
In the November election, Bruesch, and two new comers, were elected to the board and replaced two incumbents, forming a new board majority.
