Monterey Park City Council will consider spending money to enter a float in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade to commemorate the city's Centennial when it begins its annual budget review process on Tuesday, May 26 at 6 p.m.in the council chambers.
First item of business is considering actions regarding the proposed 2015-16 Fiscal year budget. "Staff will present a budget overview of policy issues, new laws, challenges/solutions, goals and strategies associated with the budget," the city meeting agenda stated.
City Manager Paul Talbot and Financial Manager Chu Thai will present the city's overall financial situation. Depending on the wishes of the city council, there may be a department-by-department review of budgets, staffing and programs at subsequent council meetings. The draft budget document is available for public review in the City Clerks office.
The meeting is open to the public and may be televised over the city's cable television channel.
