MPK Night Market is returning to Barnes Park for two days of fun, filled with great people, food, and vibes this summer on Friday, July 17 (5:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.) and Saturday, July 18 (2:30pm-10:30pm).
Sponsored by the Monterey Park Chamber and produced by the KCM Agency, the 2015 MPK Night Market is a free-admission, two-evening market in Monterey Park, featuring food, art, live entertainment, community organizations, a beer & wine garden, and carnival games. With over 100 booths, vendors, artists, and entertainers, the 2015 MPK Night Market is expected to attract between 15,000 to 20,000 people over the course of two evenings.
Monterey Park Chamber Interim President Dora Leung says that the night market is a platform to support local and small businesses, to encourage entrepreneurship, and to promote community causes, thereby benefiting the city economically. The Monterey Park City Council unanimously approved this year's MPK Night Market recently and lauded the success of last year's event that brought evenings of fun for local residents and visitors.
Highlights from last year's events include Food Network's Great Food Truck Race Winners Seoul Sausage & The Middle Feast, Pumpkin Patch & Zombie Walk from the Haunted MPK Night Market, and Ugly Sweater Contest from the Holiday MPK Night Market.
In addition to variety of interesting ethnic street food and trends, Barnes Park will come alive as vendors, artisans, and community organizations showcase fun activities and unique creations including chalk art and handmade jewelry. This year's event will feature many unique, global street foods, game booths, booth sponsored by non-profit agencies, and food trucks. The Monterey Park Chamber will be feature a "Chamber Pavilion" where members can display their services and products over the two-day event.
Organizers emphasized that expanded parking will be available for the event, but recommended the use of public transportation, carpools, and bicycles.
