  • By Staff Reports

Filmmaker Alvin Tsang will introduce and screen his documentary film “Reunification’ on Sunday, February 26 at 2 p.m. in the Friends Room at the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library. Filmed in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Monterey Park, “Reunification” is the filmmaker’s story of his family’s immigration from Hong Kong to the United States in the  1980s.

The film explores the effects of immigration and family disintegration through family footage that reflects the images of a once intact family. A discussion with the filmmaker will follow the film.
“Reunification” is the first in a series of films and guest speakers that are part of the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library’s program series “Californians: Community Conversations about Immigration,” a program of the California Center for the Book, bringing communities together to discuss the issues of immigration and an understanding of people’s stories about coming to California.
