About 117 members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in Monterey Park will get a pay raise, thanks to the action of the City Council at Wednesday night’s (11-14-17) meeting.
Tom Cody, Human Resources manager, reported that the employee group made up mostly of clerical and administrative personnel will get a 3% pay raise retroactive to last July, and then another 3% pay raise in July 2018.
He said it was the first pay raise the group has received since 2011.The contract also included increased city contributions to the medical, dental and vision plans. Longevity pay was also increased.
City council previously approved new wage and benefits agreements with several other city unions.
