At a 24-minute meeting with a light agenda, the Rosemead City Council voted to proclaim the month of July as “Parks Make Life Better!” month on Tuesday.
The council was then going to hear a presentation by South El Monte Council Member Joseph Gonzales on an update on the SR-60 Coalition. However, Gonzales was unable to attend.
In other council news, the council voted to adopt the city’s Housing Corporation fiscal year budget for 2013-14. The total budget for this corporation is $771,000.
The council also passed a resolution amending its ad hoc Youth Committee membership selection. The school attendance requirement has been made obsolete in an effort to get more interested participants.
In addition, the council voted to replace its audio tape recording system for meetings with digital audio tapes.
