Relay for Life Today (7/13/13)at Rosemead High

There is still an opportunity to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the traditional community salute to cancer victims and survivors scheduled today Saturday, July 13, 10:00 a.m. through Sunday, July 14, 10:00 a.m. at Rosemead High School.

Relay for Life is an overnight celebration of hope and progress in honor of the millions of Americans who have survived cancer and an occasion to remember those that have suffered with or died as a result of the illness.

 

To participate, all you have to do is show up and register at the event during the day. The fund raising effort is held during the year throughout America.

The Relay will be held on the Rosemead High School Track, 9063 E. Mission Drive. The event will feature live music, food trucks, youth activities, and activities for 24 hours as relay teaqms walk and run around the school track.

Individuals, clubs, teams are invited to join in the night event by a committee of organizers that include residents, community organizations and the Rosemead Kiwanis Club.
Kick-off  is at 8:45 a.m. today followed by the traditional Survivor’s Breakfast at 10 a.m. and  Survivor Lap

Luminaries Ceremony in memory of those who have passed will be at 10 p.m. Closing ceremony will be at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Teams of walkers who have collected pledges will be circling the Rosemead High football field as they complete their commitment to participate for 24 hours.
