A Few Light Items Are On Rosemead Council's Agenda

ROSEMEAD – While the summer months do not necessarily mean a vacation for city council members, it does usually mean a shorter meeting agenda. And this Tuesday night’s scheduled meeting of the Rosemead City Council is no exception.
The council will first hear a presentation that proclaims Aug. 6 as “National Night Out,” which is a night for the community to gather – in Rosemead it will be at Zapopan Park at 8301 Garvey Avenue from 6 to 9 p.m. – and come together to make the city safe from crime.
The council will then hear a presentation from Consolidated Disposal – a trash-collecting company – on that organization’s overview of services.
Next, the council will decide whether to cancel the Aug. 27 meeting and whether or not to send City Manager Jeff Allred to a conference in Boston in September.
Then the council will hear a presentation on and whether to approve an underground utility planning and prioritization policy to help guide future undergrounding projects in the city.
Finally, the council will decide whether to form a beautification committee to facilitate a citizens-based, community grassroots effort to organize, promote and participate in programs and volunteer service projects designed to beautify Rosemead.
