Rosemead Opens New Civic Plaza

City of Rosemead dedicated its new Civic Center Plaza with a ribbon cutting ceremony, Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The new plaza, located between the city hall and County Library, will be used for community events. The ceremonies also marked the completion of remodeling of city hall offices and the a recreation center.

City officials including Mayor Bill Alarcon and council members Margaret Clark, Polly Low and Steven Ly participated in unveiling a dedication plaque at city hall. Also participating were a number of county, state and school district officials.

The new plaza is located just off of Valley Boulevard and next to a 9-11 memorial featuring a piece of steel from the World Trade Center destroyed in the terrorists attack. The plaza features two water fountains and open space to sit several hundred people at city events.
