ROSEMEAD - A woman was killed and six other persons were injured in accident involving several cars in the city of Rosemead this morning (5/24).
Press reports identified the fatality as Maria Del Rocio Suarez, 46 of Tujunga. She apparently died at the accident scene on Rosemead Boulevard and Glendon Way, according to the County Coroner’s office.
The accident reportedly happened after 5 a.m. A sheriff’s spokesman said seven cars were involved in the crash. Video footage broadcast on a news station showed two cars overturned. Reportedly, on person was trapped in a car.
County Fire reported that two people were taken to hospitals for treatment while four others reportedly had minor injuries and decline hospitalization.
Traffic on Rosemead Boulevard was restricted as Sheriff’s deputies investigated the accident. While southbound traffic was blocked, northbound traffic was limited toe one lane for several hours.
