Mission Fiesta This Saturday

San Gabriel – San Gabriel Mission’s 237th Annual Fiesta Royal Court members selected recently are Queen Iliana Ramos of San Gabriel, Princesses Vivian Pineda of Alhambra, Adriana Caire of San Gabriel, and Gina Hughes of Temple City.

They will participate in the Fiesta Volunteer’s Mass on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Annunciation at the mission, and then after the mass they will be crowned in the mission’s parish center.

The public is invited for free to attend the mass and crowning event. There will be a free dinner at the crowning event in the air conditioned parish center. The Fiesta Royal Court will represent San Gabriel Mission at its fiesta on Aug. 29-31 of Labor Day weekend, and at mission and community events until next year’s fiesta.

San Gabriel Mission Fountain was recently restored. Admission fee will be waived during mission’s fiesta on Aug. 27-29

  9 a.m.- 4 p.m. No admission charge to museum and gardens.
  9 a.m.  Children’s and Pet’s Costume Contest at fiesta stage.
 11 a.m. Blessing of the Animals at fiesta stage.
 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Re-enactors of history in gardens.
 4:30 p.m.  History Reception in museum patio.
 5 p.m.  Birthday Cake Celebration at fiesta stage.

SUN., AUG. 31: Fiesta open 2 p.m. to midnight
 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. No admission charge to museum and gardens.
 9:30 a.m.  Founderís Memorial Mass in Mission Church.
11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Re-enactors of history in gardens.
11:30 p.m.  Closing Ceremony and Prize Drawings at fiesta stage.
