Monterey Park Library Foundation will celebrate the fifth anniversary of the completion of the renovation of the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library with a Holiday Gala, Saturday, Dec. 10, 3 to 5 p.m.

The Gala will also celebrate the final completion of the library mural, "Outpost of Wonder" which welcomes visitors over the main entrance of the library at 318 S. Ramona Street.

The fundraising event will offer holiday entertainment, seasonal refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus. Donation for the event is $25 per person with reduced amounts for children and senior citizens. The Monterey Park Library Foundation is a 501c(3) organization. The library renovation doubled the size of the library with funds raised by the Foundation, support from the city and a state grant.
