MONTEREY PARK -- A 21-year-old man was discovered dead at East Los Angeles College Thursday morning (01-05-12), police and school district officials reported Friday. The college is located at 1301  Av. Cesar Chavez.

The person was identified as Luis Alberto-Marques Carranza. He was found at about 8:28 a.m. by a water polo coach who discovered him floating in one of the campus pools at East L.A. College.

He was pronunced dead by paramedics and transported to the Coroners office. The death was reported initially as a possible accident, pending completion of an autopsy, according to news reports.
