MONTEREY PARK, Saturday, July 30 -- An early morning fire early Friday morning caused an estimated $150,000 in damages to a restaurant at 305 West. Garvey Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Fire units responded to a report of a fire at 5:46 a.m. Friday at the Sweet Blanket Restaurant. Upon arrival Montrey Park Fire units encountered smoke coming from the roof of the building. Firefighters made forcible entry in the building and extinguised the fire, whiel roof top ventilation was performed. The fire was extinguised by 6:02 a.m. according to fire department reports.

Firefighters reported that the initial cause of the fire is under investigation.  Monterey Park fire units were assisted by fire fighting units from Alhambra and Los Angeles county.
