Irene Klubnikin was born on May 27, 1922 in Michigan. She passed away on Oct. 27, 2010 at the Scripps Kensington in Alhambra.

Katherine Tellez Andrade entered and exited this world on Nov. 25. She was born in 1925 to Ramona Ochoa and Florencio Tellez in Clifton, Ariz., a hardscrabble copper mining town.

San Gabriel –entrepreneur, businessman, community leader and community icon, Frank Ramirez, passed away on December 18, 2009. A “Celebration of Life” was held on Sunday, January 10th. at the Ambassador Auditorium.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 6, 10:30 a.m. for Joseph Nevarez, 97, a long time resident and retired Journalist who passed away last week in his Monterey Park home.

Funeral services were held last week for Eliseo “Lee” Frias, 89, a Rosemead resident who passed away recently.
Lee was born in Los Angeles on November 18,1920 and was one of nine sons of Federico and Elisa Frias of East Los Angeles. Eight sons served in the U.S. military in World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; granddaughter Judy Parry; two great grand children; and a brother, Henry.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Lee served during World War II and participated in several battles with the 35dth U.S. Army Regiment.
In stories to his children and nephews, he recalled seeing General George Patten on one occasion in the battle lines. He was also with the first U.S. troops to reach Germany and free Jews held in concentration camps.
Following the War, he was employed by the L.A. Department of Water and Power. Interment was at Rose Hills Cemetery on December 4.
