Evelyn Diederich passed away on Feb. 21, 2009, after a long illness, at the home of her niece, Dr. Donna Tomlinson & Dr. Clyde Schechter.
Evelyn Diederich passed away on Feb. 21, 2009, after a long illness, at the home of her niece, Dr. Donna Tomlinson & Dr. Clyde Schechter.
Born 11/29/15, raised in Phoenix AZ, 2nd of 6 children. She graduated from Arizona State University in 1937, with a degree in education.
While at ASU was the southwest women’s tennis champion, continued Playing till age 75. Taught elementary school for 23 years in both Phoenix and San Diego.
Member of the Los Angeles County & California State Republican Central Committees. A Delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1976 for Ronald Reagan.
Evelyn was active in M.P. from the early 70’s in the Tennis Club, Commission on Aging, Fed. Republican Women’s Club, a founding member of Residents Assn. of M.P. (RAMP) which was written about in two books regarding M.P.’s history becoming the First Chinese Suburb in the USA. She was known as a hard worker who could always be counted on.
She is survived by her daughter, Nanci Diederich and son, Harry Couch & his wife Betty, grandsons H. Allan & Mark Couch; great grandchildren Carrie & Allan J. Couch. Nieces Kathy Booker & Dr. Donna Tomlinson, grandnieces Sandra & Kathryn Tomlinson, Mary Williams and grandnephews Harrison & Russel Booker.
