He was elected November 4 after defeating three other candidates for the water board seat. The Upper San Gabriel Valley Water District is a little-known public agency that is a wholesaler of water to 17 cities and 22 retail water utilities in San Gabriel Valley. Trevino's district includes the cities of Rosemead, South Pasadena, Arcadia and parts of Temple City.
