Rosemead, CA - The City of Rosemead's transportation service is expanding beyond the city limits trips offered by Rosemead Explorer busses and Dial-a-Ride. Starting Monday, December 5, the City will launch a new service for Rosemead residents called the Commuter Connection. The program will be offered during a six-month trial period. The Commuter Connection will transport residents for free, round-trip from the Target shopping center to the Metro Transit and Metrolink Stations in El Monte. This new weekday service provides residents with a connection to many destinations. The launch event on December 5 at the Target shopping center will provide an opportunity to win prizes, eat snacks, and discuss the wonderful potential of this new program. Each rider will receive a free Transit Access Pass and will be given a raffle ticket each day they ride the shuttle during its inaugural week, according to city officials. This service is currently planned as a 6-month trial, but will hopefully generate enough interest to be added as a permanent Rosemead transportation option. The launch event will begin at 5:45 a.m. and conclude around the departure of the last morning shuttle at around 8 a.m.
