San Gabriel Mission celebrates its birthday with its annual fiesta. Preparing for the fiesta are (from left) Julie Sanchez, Carolina Russek and Elizabeth Sanchez. They will participate in the Fiesta Volunteer’s Mass on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Annunciation at the mission, and then after the mass they will be crowned in the mission’s parish center. The public is invited for free to attend the mass and crowning event. There will be a free dinner at the crowning event in the air conditioned parish center. The Fiesta Royal Court will represent San Gabriel Mission at its fiesta on Aug. 29-31 of Labor Day weekend, and at mission and community events until next year’s fiesta.

San Gabriel – San Gabriel Mission’s 237th Annual Fiesta Royal Court members selected recently are Queen Iliana Ramos of San Gabriel, Princesses Vivian Pineda of Alhambra, Adriana Caire of San Gabriel, and Gina Hughes of Temple City.
