Schurr Gets Beat Up In Season Finale

052611SchurrBaseball1BALHAMBRA - 5/13/11 - The Schurr High baseball team got rocked by host Alhambra High on Friday, 12-0, in the 2011 season finale and a CIF Almont League game.
Schurr pitching gave up two runs in the bottom of the first, four in the bottom of the second and repeated the pattern in the fourth and fifth innings.
The Spartans finish the season with a 7-12 record, while the Moors sport a 22-3 record overall and 14-1 record in league.
With the win, Alhambra looks forward to the postseason with brackets to be announced as early as Sunday.
The Moors racked up 11 hits against Spartan pitching, five of them doubles with one triple.
Juan Crespo and Frankie Wright each went 2-for-3 against Schurr. Crespo had an RBI while Wright had two doubles and an RBI.
Alhambra starter Gary Acuna scattered just five hits against Schurr in a complete game, shutout effort. Acuna also struck out four.
