PREP BASKETBALL: Rosemead Boys Open Season With Thriller

Rosemead -- San Gabriel High School boys varsity basketball team prevailed in a thriller 50-47 at Rosemead on Nov. 24, to open the season. Rosemead led 42-38 and San Gabriel outscored host Rosemead 12-5, mostly on free throws, to win the game.

San Gabriel had a huge advantage at the free throw line, making 24 of 32 free throws, while Rosemead made four of seven attempts.
Jared Tan led San Gabriel with 17 points, of which he made 11 of 12 free throws and added 7 rebounds, Preston Sayavong scored 16 points including making 9 of 11 free throws, and Boris Huang made 9 points.
Rosemead was led by Ivan Ip with 14 points, Ben Ly with 13 points, and Brian Ly with 6 points.
