PREP FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS: Schurr Loses, So. El Monte Wins

  • By Chuck Lyons

Number one ranked Schurr High School in California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section (CIFSS) Division 12 varsity football championship playoffs was upset 42-21 after a very long bus ride to Santa Maria on Nov. 17, 2017.

Fourth ranked South El Monte had a home game and defeated Rancho Christian 42-35 in division 12 playoffs to make the semi-finals on Nov. 24.

South El Monte won the coin toss and will host Santa Maria on Nov. 24, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. If South El Monte wins, and if Big Bear wins against Santa Ana in the other semi-final game, then South El Monte will host the CIFSS Division 12 Championship game and if South El Monte wins and Santa Ana wins, Santa Ana would host the Championship game, which will be either Dec. 1 or 2.
