CARSON - The Los Angeles Galaxy were knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals on March 14 against Toronto FC, 2-1, at The Home Depot Center in Carson.
Toronto led, 1-0, at halftime as forward Ryan Johnson headed one in at the 35th minute past Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Saunders on a pass from Nick Soolsma.
Toronto then helped out the Galaxy in the 55th minute by scoring a goal for them as the ball went off defender Ty Harden and into the net.
However, 12 minutes later Toronto put the game away on a goal by Soolsma.
Los Angeles coach Bruce Arena said his team was outplayed by the Canadian representatives.
"Give Toronto the credit for the win tonight," Arena said. "They were simply opportunistic. We played poorly in both boxes and we didn't defend well. There's no one else to look at in our locker room. We didn't get the job done."
