PREP VOLLEYBALL: Rosemead Downs Mountain View

  Rosemead -- In a long match where the volleyball was hit back and forth over the net for long stretches on many points, Rosemead girls team prevailed in an exhausting thriller by a score of 3-2 to conclude Mission Valley League action on Nov. 4.

  Rosemead won the first game 25-20, Mountain View won the second game 25-20 and the third game 25-23. Rosemead then took its turn winning the close games 25-22 and the decider 15-13.
  "We worked hard all season and our girls deserved to finish the season on senior day on a good note with senior Tinzlee Flores hitting the winning serve," said Clara Hauser, Rosemead Head Coach.
Mountain View High School Head Coach Geodi Sunabe-Davidson said, "both teams fought hard and Rosemead used its crowd support." She added it was a great way to conclude league play for both teams with every game very close and the fans from both schools creating a crowded and loud atmosphere.
Rosemead leaders were Kaitlyn Enriquez with nine kills, Jasmine Tran with six service aces and 23 digs, Lilly Hoong with five service aces, Jasmine Guerrero with six kills, Annette Gutierrez with 28 digs, and Ann Duong with 18 digs.
Mountain View leaders were Kimberly Vasquez with 13 kills and 35 digs, and Rose Chavez with five service aces and 31 digs.
Rosemead finished league play at 5-7 and was 5-17 overall. Mountain View was 7-5 in league and 13-8 overall and made the CIF Southern Section playoffs and will make a long trip on Nov. 10, to Santa Ynez.
