  • By Chuck Lyons

ROSEMEAD -- In its biggest Louie Madrigal West Coast Wrestling Classic in recent years, Rosemead High School boys varsity wrestling team finished 12th among the 45 high schools who participated on Dec. 16-17, 2016, at Rosemead High School.

Rosemead High School Wrestling Coach Justin Rosien said the competitors included many who probably will qualify for the California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section (CIFSS) wrestling meets in a few weeks.

Shown in the photo is Rosemead's Diego Ortiz (on left) leading Christopher Urias of Marquez High School before Urias won in overtime 9-7 in the fifth round of the 113 pound competition.
